Any other scale modelers around? I'm on again/off again. My last model has fucked up paint so I stayed away for a while

I would love to start building models again. I am much more patient than I was when I built my last one. I feel like I could do a pretty good job.

That's why I did my last one. I actually did the paint 4 or 5 times but in the end couldn't get the smoothness I wanted with spray paint. I might invest in an airbrush kit now that I have a mile long wish list of models.

Have you tried painting, then wet-sanding, then following up with clear spray, then another bit of sanding followed by polish and wax? I haven't tried it on a scale model, but I did try it when I was painting some plastic trim on a real car.

I have a Tamiya plastic model of a Bugeye STI that I need to build, but I've never done a model.

I wet sanded. I was getting the shininess I wanted with the paint I used but it's just bumpy looking. I didn't figure a clear spray would get rid of that texture.

Jump in to it! Tamiya makes good models, they're just a bit expensive for what I'd like to do. I got these (Fujimi) because they're high quality and can be had for cheap.

I'm trying to get back into it, but I lack the time and tools required for a decent build. But the boxed kits keep piling up on my shelves anyways, so manybe one day...

Are model kits, if I go by the book, relatively easy to build? It's just been sitting for months.

The hardest part is painting everything how you want it. It's fairly straight forward. It looks like a lot of pieces, but it all makes sense. I wouldn't rush it, trim the pieces and don't go crazy with the glue, a little but goes a long way

Now I wonder is they made Skyline 4-door as well..
How much that skyline cost?

Ya the 4 door g35 was a skyline in Japan, the 350gt wasnt a real skyline though. It was about 20 bucks from 1999.co.jp

That's cheap!

My last model was a tamiya Mercedes Actross that I never finished..
I'll get the 4-door skyline next time!

I'm not actually sure if there's a scale model of the sedan, that I've seen at least. I found several diecast models though.
